약간 사이코 스토리다. 이야기의 시작은 바로!!! 이렇게 처음 페러그래프 하나만 옮겨써본다.. 당연히 copy right 는 Julio cortazar에게 있다.
Halfway down the long hotel vestibule, he hought that probably he was going to be late, and hurried on into the street to get out his motorcycle fromthe corner where the next-door superintendent let him keep it. On the jewelry store at the corner he read that it was ten to nine; he had time to spare. The sun filtered through the tall downtown buildings, and he-because for himself, for just going along thinking, he did not have a name-- he swung ontothe mchine, savoringthe idea of the ride. Th motor whirred between his legs, and a cool wind whipped his pantslegs.
자 상황을 살펴보자면, 화자는 지금 현대의 멕시코 시티에 살고있다!
화창한 날씨! 그리고 오토바이를 타고 거리를 달리고있는 것이다!!! 오오오!
그러다 마주친... 어느 여자분! 거리에서 튀어나와서 화자와 부딪칠뻔!!
화자는 오토바이를 타고 슬라이딩.. 그러더니.. 병원에 이송되었다..
그와중에.. 화자는 꿈인지 생신지 모르는 일을 경험하게되고... 바로 자기가.. 옛날 테녹틱틀란!!의 멕시코 아즈텍 문명의 인간 희생 종교!! 그것의 희생물이 라는 사실을 알게된다!!! 쓰오오오오!! 꿈인지 생신지 모르는 상황을 방황하면서 화자는 결국.. 생포되고만다.. 그니깐.. 화자는 현대 시대를 사는 사람이 아니라.... 꿈인지 생신지 모를 곳의... 종교의식을 위한 희생물이였던 것이었다...
오오오! 뭔가 오싹오싹하지 않는가? 여기서 나의 문학책이 던지는 질문..
무엇이 진실인가??? 무엇?? 화자가 경험했던.. 그 현대의 멕시코시티..
오토바이, 가로등, 자동차, 빌딩... 아니면? 아즈텍 문명때의.. 종교의식을 하는 곳??.... 쓰오오오..
진실은 과연 무엇일까? 답은 없다 생각하기 나름.
만약 화자의 진실이.. 현대의 멕시코라면... 아마 그 아즈텍 문명은 단순한 꿈이거나 환상? 사고의 후유증 정도?
만약 진실이 아즈텍문명때라면, 화자의 진실은 꽤나 모순이 많겠다.
왜냐면, 어떻게 그시대 사람이 빌딩을 생각하고 맨 처음에 오토바이를 타고 거리를 누비는 생각을! 할 수 있었는가? 근데 뭐.. 사람마다 생각은 자유니... 만약 그 화자가 엄청난 상상력!을 가지고있다면...

Goodman Brown의.. 숲속의 목격은 그가 사랑하던 부인도 못믿게 만들어버렸고. 결국 죽을 때까지 벙어리처럼 입을 다물다 죽는걸로 이야기가 끝남.

플라토.. 의 동굴에 대한 비유.. 꽤나 유명한 일화! 바로 영화 매트릭스를 보신 분이라면 쉽게 이해가 가는.. 숟가락을 보며.. 숟가락을 마음대로 휘게 만드는 한 소년?을 본 네오가 ... 쫓아할려고하자 잘 안되고. 그리고 꼬마의 대답 " 숟가락은 거기 없어요." 그리고 네오는 그 숟가락을 움직이고 만다!
이해가 안되셨다면 영화를 보시길. 하여튼. 이곳의 설정은.. 벽에 비춰진 그림자를 보며 살았던 사람들.. 그리고 그 중에 풀려난 한 사람.. 그 사람은.. 자기가 봐왔던 그림자가 진실이 아님을알게되고.. 동굴밖으로 나가 세상을 봤다! 그리고 이 사실을 친구들에게 알려주려하지만, 친구들은 그를 믿지 않는다! 죽이려한다!. 진실을 안다면, 그 대가를 치를 용기도 있어야한다. 그 대가는 죽음이 될 수도있고..
